Council Leaders Visit The New Croft

On Wednesday 4th February, The New Croft welcomed a visit from West Suffolk Council, providing an opportunity to showcase the significant developments that have taken place on site in recent years and to share plans for the future.

The visit included Local Councillor Margaret Marks and Leader of West Suffolk Council, Cliff Waterman, marking his first visit to The New Croft. They were joined by Tom Harrison, Chair of The New Croft, Howard Cook, Director of The New Croft, and Peter Betts, CEO.

During the visit, attendees took part in a full site walk-around, discussing the evolution of The New Croft over the last few years. Key developments highlighted included the construction of the two 3G pitches, the growth in the number of community groups and individuals accessing the site, and the increasing role The New Croft plays in supporting local sport, health, and wellbeing.

Looking ahead, conversations also focused on the site's future plans. These include an exciting new partnership with Haverhill Padel, with three new padel courts due to open around April, alongside further developments aimed at expanding social and community spaces and growing the range of provisions available to the local community.

The visit was a valuable opportunity for the Council to gain a clear, visual understanding of the progress made at The New Croft and the positive impact the facility continues to have on the local community. Discussions also covered key focal points for the coming months, ensuring alignment and shared ambition as The New Croft continues to develop.

The New Croft would like to thank all those who attended and look forward to building on these conversations as we continue to grow and serve our community.
