The New Croft recently had the pleasure of welcoming three students, Rhys, George and Alfie, from a local college for a week of work experience. All three students, who are currently studying sports-related courses, gained hands-on experience across all aspects of our organisation, from facility management to marketing and coaching.

Throughout the week, the students took on a variety of tasks, including maintenance work such as helping to maintain our pitches and facilities, assisting coaching sessions with our Foundation team, and even gaining valuable insight into our marketing department to learn more about branding and online engagement.

Each student had their own reasons for choosing The New Croft for their work experience, whether it was an interest in sports facility management, coaching, marketing, or community engagement. One placement was arranged independently and two through the college, and we were delighted to provide them with a meaningful and educational experience.

Tracy Thomas, The New Croft Facility & Operations Manager, shared her thoughts: “Rhys, George, and Alfie have demonstrated an excellent work ethic throughout their time with us. They have gained hands-on experience across various areas, from facility maintenance to assisting our coaches with football sessions. We hope they found the week both valuable and enjoyable, and we wish them every success in their future endeavours.”

With more work experience students booked to join us in the upcoming months, The New Croft is always keen to support young people looking to gain real-world experience in the sports and leisure industry. If you are a student interested in a future work experience opportunity with us, please get in touch with Tracy Thomas at tracythomas@thenewcroft.co.uk.
