Shortly before Friday night’s derby between Haverhill Borough and Haverhill Rovers, a supporter fell ill on the sidelines and required urgent medical attention.
Thanks to the quick thinking of Borough’s Tommy Hardwick and the HCSA’s Lisa Shulver, the spectator was looked after until the East Anglian Air Ambulance were able to arrive at the scene and take him to hospital.
Everybody at The New Croft is extremely thankful to everybody who helped out that night and meant the evening did not become more serious. We are also grateful to the FA’s funding for a defibrillator, which was essential.
